Avanell E. Bennett Obituary
Avanell E. Bennett, 90, of Rossiter, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
She was born March 25, 1927, in Sprankle Mills, PA, a daughter of the late Helena (Blose) and Charles Lee Humble.
On January 12, 1946, she married Robert E. Bennett, who preceded her in death on April 26, 2011. They were married for sixty-five years and were co-owners of A and A Sunoco "Slicks" and later owned A and A Personal Care Home.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Rossiter and the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney.
She enjoyed sewing, and made many sets of Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls for Church Bazaars.
She was the last remaining member of her family.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Deborah Lunger and husband Rudy of Rossiter and Patricia Bennett of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Christopher Flick and wife Kyleen of Maryland and Carrie Munro and husband Allen of Brookville; and two great grandchildren, Cole and Riley Flick.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son R. Lynn Bennett, three brothers, Cary Humble, Robert Humble and William Humble, and three sisters Maxine Bowers, Clara Craft, and Linda Cable.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May, 20, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastor Glen McQuown officiating.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Rossiter, following the funeral service.
