He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Karns and Edna Karns; his siblings, Helen Muldoon and Robert Karns; and his siblings-in-law, John McClimans, Chuck Campbell, Peg Campbell and Jewel McClimans.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma "Jane" McClimans; his children, Debbie Lerch (Steve) and Darrell Karns (Vivian) of Franklin; his grandchildren, Stephanie Swope (Mike) of Franklin, Andrew Karns of Summerville, SC and Raeann Johnson (Trevor) of Franklin; his great grandchildren, Meghan Emerson (Jonathan) of Franklin, Amanda Swope of Melbourne, FL, Emma Karns, Ethan Karns of Summerville, SC, William Johnson and Liam Johnson of Franklin; his great great grandchild Braxton Emerson of Franklin; and his brother-in-law Robert McClimans (Joan) of Rocky Grove. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
