He was predeceased by: his parents, James Downes and Beatrice Mosher Downes; and his sister Jean Downes. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Downes (Alexander); his children, Jeff, Liz Downes, Stephanie Fazenbaker (Donnie) and Dana Carr (Austin); his siblings, Harold Downes (Nancy), Walter Downes, Barbara McLaughlin (John) and Beatrice Smith (Larry); his grandchildren, Travis, Madison, Belle and Brooke; and his great grandchildren, Nikolai, Gary, Cooper and Kellan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc. (349 Adams St, Rochester, PA 15074). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Cecilia RC Church (628 Virginia Ave, Rochester, PA 15074).
