She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Geffert and Nora Geffert; and her husband Joseph Carey. She is survived by: her children, Josh Carey (Mackenzie) and Jenna Carey (Michael Brown); her grandchildren, Brooks and Bennet; and her siblings, Noreen Muha (Mike), Catherine Helm (Mike), Patricia Luft (Clifford) and John Geffert. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.
