He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carpenter and Bessy Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Bonita; his sister Donna Moffett (Edwin); his children, Donald Carpenter II (Dee), Susan Shaw (James), Scott Carpenter (Estelle) and Amy Scassa (David); his grandchildren, Donald Carpenter III, Zachary Tanaka, Kayla Carpenter (James), Katie Norman (Adam) and Cassidy Scott (Jacob); and his great grandchildren, Seth Tanaka (Mai), Elizabeth Tanaka and Elliot Carpenter.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Saul Gabauer Funeral Home (273 PA-68, Rochester, PA 15074). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
