He was predeceased by: his parents, James Burns and Patricia Burns. He is survived by: his wife Diane Burns (Wikowski); his children, Kim Burns-Peterson (Matt), Lindsay Andreozzi (Massimo) and Katie Ward (Jake); his grandchildren, Allie, Angelo, Nadia, Sasha, Matteo, Luke, Maddie and Leo; his siblings, Valerie Larcinese (Rich) and Michael Burns (Carol); and his nieces and nephews, Ashley and Britni. He is also survived by his family and friends.
