He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lou Donahoe; his parents, Jack W. Harper, Sr. and Doris Jane Harper (Cutler); and his sister Nancy Rich (Hank). He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Dennis Donahoe (Margaret), Patricia Carter (James) and Judith McGinnis (Robert); his nieces and nephews, D. J. Donahoe (Kristy), Kelly Buettner (Edward), James Donahoe (Chrissie), Danny Donahoe, Kierstyn McGinnis Cavanaugh (Tim), Elizabeth McGinnis (Jasmine) and Allison McGinnis; his great-nieces, Alanna and Malia Cavanaugh; his cousin Mark Potter (Janis); and his friends, Rege Braun of Sunrise, FL and Jim Marsilio of Ingram.
