He was predeceased by: his parents, Susan Conway and Edward Coyle; his wife Betty A. Coyle; and his brother Frank. He is survived by: his children, Edward F. Coyle, Jr. (Lauren) and Shari Blumling (John); his grandchildren, Courtney Coyle (Melanie), Ashley Large (Travis), Edward Coyle, III, Jennifer Blumling, Brittany Blumling and John Blumling; and his siblings, Janet Caldwell (Frank), John Coyle (Eileen) and David Johnston (Pat). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
