She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Route and Marian Whiting Route; her brother Ernie Route; her brother-in-law Ron Slocum; her stepson Trevor Collister; and her sister-in-law Lynn Williams.
She is survived by: her former husband Roger Vermilya; her husband Gordon Collister; her children, Brandy Heatley (Bryan) and Ronnie Vermilya (Dana) of Canton; her grandchildren, Chelsey, Dalton, Abby, Lyle, Levi and Link; her great grandchildren, Raya and Madalynn; her siblings, Alfred Route (Marilynn), Mary Jane Slocum, Linda Rockwell (Dave), Brenda Colton (Jim) and Rick Route (Denise); her siblings-in-law, Sally Route, Joan Helm, Ruth Ann Merrick, Kenneth Collister (Kay) and Tom Williams; her stepchildren, Brett, Wendy and Misty; and her close friend Terry Brown. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Susan's memory to Animal Care Sanctuary or the ASPCA.
