He was predeceased by: his parents, Judson Dean and Mildred Rearick Dean; his wife Judith V. Rankin; his daughter Sheila G. Johnson; and his siblings, Lois Dean and Ronald Dean.
He is survived by: his son Greg Dean (Cassima) of Texas; his granddaughters, Heather Johnson (Allan) of Rimersburg, Alison Barger (Tracy) of Rimersburg and Kayla Guinn (Michael) of Texas; his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Katelyn, Crystal, Dean, Sherry, Hayes and Asher; and his siblings, Madeline Nolf, Richard "Dick" Dean (L. C.), Carol Foringer and Janet Blair. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
