He was predeceased by: his father Robert J. Kerns. He is survived by: his mother Marie Theresa Kerns (Nook); and his siblings, Bob Kerns, Marianne Giannone, Lorie Franco, Janet Kerns, Carol DeAngelis Denise Kerns, Diane Ritz, Susan Watts, Jackie Doubet and Kathy Shwartz. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
