He was predeceased by: his daughter Margaret Catona; his parents, James Dagney and Helen Dagney; and his brother James. He is survived by: his friend Bill W.; his brother William Dagney; his wife Kathleen "Kathy" McGreal Dagney; his children, John, Michael, Robert, Daniel Dagney, Kathleen Wigmore and Katie Wissman; his grandchildren, Gary, Danny, Matthew, Nicholas, Thomas and Deanna; and his great grandchildren, Nathan and Jacob.

Memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are appreciated.
