He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore L. Pontzer and Marie Pontzer (Volk); his children, Christopher T. Pontzer and Patricia Pontzer; and his great grandchild Amelia Streich.

He is survived by: his wife Cecelia E. Pontzer of Ridgway; his children, Pamela A. Streich (Rick Dorbritz) of Ridgway and Mark P. Pontzer of Ridgway; his daughter-in-law Kathryn Pontzer of Massillon, OH; his grandchildren, Eric (Daniella), Jennifer (Adam), Zachary, Lee (Mike), Samantha, Sydney (Levi), Luke Jr. (Elizabeth), Tobias (Kylee) and Seth; his great grandchildren, Elena, Avery, Isla, Michael, Hudson, Luke III, Cambree, Maleah and Tobias, Jr.; his sister Mary Jo Carlisle of Arizona; and his niece Nikki.
