He was predeceased by: his former wife Vivian L. Orner; his parents, Mabel Hippert and Tyrus Hippert; his grandson Vincent Achey; and his sister Barbara.
He is survived by: his wife Martha J. Hippert (Rittle); his sons, Michael Layser (Peggy), James Layser, Patrick Layser (Judy), Thomas Layser (Katie), Timothy Layser (Anna) and Clifford Hippert; and his stepdaughters, Loretta Achey-Noland (Dave Noland) and Donna (Dale Shanaman). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
