Wetzel (Oxenrider); his parents, Grace Deamer and Troutman; his stepfather Mahlon Deamer; his fiancée Rose Deibler of Hummelstown; his daughters, Carol (Dave Sloan) of Myerstown, Karen (Patrick Coffey) of Schaefferstown and Marlisa Smith of Mount Aetna; his grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel Garloff, Jill Carpenter, Jess and Joshua Smith; his siblings, Sylvia Bucks of Robesonia and Donald (Shirley Wetzel) of Bernville; his son-in-law Tracy Smith; and his brother Robert Wetzel. He was also cherished by 10 great-grandchildren.
