He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Fye and Annabelle Fye (Walters); his wife Vyerma Fye (Carl); and his daughter Cheryl Campagna (Joseph). He is survived by: his sons, Richard Fye Jr. and Gary Fye (Jackie); his grandchildren, Michelle, Gary Jr., Shannon and Joey; his siblings, James, Jerry Burkhart and Susan Meyers; and his close friend Sherri. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.

Donations may be made in Richard's memory to St. Michael American Legion.
