He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Shanaman and Mollie Shanaman (Sellers); his son Troy Shanaman; and his siblings, Ned, Lee, Fay Sholley, Jay, Lew, Lyn, Gar, Ken, Ora, Dale, Ina Schaeffer and Rea Sheetz.
He is survived by: his spouse C. Perrietta (McMillen); his daughters, Doreen (Dan Phillips) of Myerstown and Trinell (Ashley Fichthorn) of Denver; his stepchildren, Ginger Parker (Michael Nye) of Myerstown, Honie Smith (Scott Long) of Harrisburg and Dustin Weiss (Bridgette Weiss) of Brooklet, GA.; his grandchildren, Derek Shanaman, Gary Althouse Jr., Amanda Starleper, Derek Phillips, Britni Tarr, Alex Phillips, Trevor Fichthorn and Devon Fichthorn; his stepgrandchildren, Whitney Yeingst, Halie Parker, Sydnie Harro, Colt Smith, Hayden Weiss, Carter Weiss and Brynlee Weiss; and his sisters, Ann Kreiser of Richland and Joy (Steve Garloff) of Richland. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
