With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin A. Hernley Jr. (Richland, Pennsylvania), born in Stouchsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 28, 2019. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley Mae Rentschler Hernley; his parents, Melvin A. Kern and Euroma Sherk Hernley Kern; and his brothers, Ronald, Edward (April Hernley), Reading and Simford (Charlotte Hernley) of Newmanstown.

He is survived by: his children, Bart A. Hernley (Phan Tran) of Prescott, Karen L. Schnoke (late Richard D. "Tiny") of Richland and Kelly S. (Randy Cox) of Richland; his sister Doris (late Maynard Hartranft) of Newmanstown; his grandchildren, Brent Schnoke (Rebecca), Alex Schnoke (Beth), Chad Schnoke (Mackenzie), Misty Mae Long (Charles), Abigail Mae Cox and Lily Oliger; and his great grandchild Barrett Schnoke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church.
