He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Russ and Jeanne Russ; and his child Thomas F. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Edna M. Smith (Broomhead); his children, Michael, James (Karen), Lisa Bonner (Joe) and Allison Kasten (Dave); his grandchildren, Joey (Katie), Ryan (Sarah), Danny (Jess), Madison, Cassidy, Noah, Lauryn and Andrew; his great grandchildren, Dawson, Shae, Emma, Melody and Tommy; and his siblings, Joan Howshall, Jeanne Costello (John) and Francis Russ (Meg).
