Barry L. Gross Obituary
Barry L. Gross, Esq., of Jamison, PA died on Friday, March 4, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. He was 70.
He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Joyce Marchesani Gross.
Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of the late Clair and Nancy Ahlum Gross.
A native of Quakertown, Barry grew up in Upper Buck County, went to Quakertown High School and then onto Temple University for his undergraduate and Law degree. After graduating, he moved back to Bucks County and started practicing Civil Litigation in Newtown, over 43 years ago. From the beginning, his involvement with the community was felt and appreciated as a professional and as a community advocate. He was constantly helping those in need. He sat on a variety of community boards in the Newtown and Northampton communities that supported and fundraised for individuals and groups.
Barry was a gifted athlete and a Philadelphia sports fanatic. If he was not coaching or watching one of his kids' sports, you would find him playing golf at Spring Mill where he was a member for over 35 years. On the weekends, he had always had a match with his favorite foursome "the Dawn Patrol" who would tee off as early as possible no matter the weather.
Constantly present in his children's lives he coached their various sports teams and also sat on the board of the Northampton Athletic Association to make things better for all the children who played. He was also active with the Council Rock Boosters who worked to get the lights on the high school stadium field. His dedication and selfless support for the surrounding communities will always be everlasting.
In addition to his loving wife, Joyce, Barry is survived by his children Jennifer Martindale and her husband Doug of Haverford, Jeffrey Gross and his wife Staci of Reading, William Zeller and his wife Krissy of Bensalem, and Michele Zeller of Jamison, his brother Eric Gross of Quakertown, his sisters, Terry Evans and her husband Harry of Savannah, GA, Pam Roeder (late Randy) of Quakertown and his father in law Dominic Marchesani (late Margaret). He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 10:00AM until a celebration of his life 12:00PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road, (at Holland Rd) Richboro, PA 18954. His interment will be held privately at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 525 Plymouth Rd., Suite 415, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
