He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Fell and Bonita Fell (Crosby); and his brothers, John Fell, Jerry Fell, Carl Fell, J. Fell and Bob Fell.

He is survived by: his spouse Shirley L. Fell; his children, Debby Fritz (Luke) of Valencia, Lisa Ecklund (Andrew) of Coatesville, PA, Brian Fell (Antonie) of Butler and Scott Fell of Tionesta, PA; and his grandchildren, Meghan Capcara (Ian), Matthew Fritz, Emily Ecklund, Luigi Fell, William Fell and Sophie Fell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to improve the trails at Jennings Nature Reserve where Bernie loved to walk.
