He was predeceased by: his parents, James Solava and Katherine Solava (Martha); his wife Sharon G. Solava (Barnett); and his brother Edward L. Solava. He is survived by: his daughters, Tara L. S. Deitrich (Craig M. Deitrich) of Bellefonte, PA. and Shanon L. Solava (Keith Shiley) of Jersey Shore, PA; his granddaughter Gabby Deitrich; his sister Kathy Cady (Steve) of Lemont, PA; and his half-sisters, Irene Butler of Ocala, FL and Jeanie Fraser (Vern) of Mechanicsburg, PA..
