He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. McNitt and Mary Margaret McNitt (Treaster); his sisters, Dorothy, Evelyn, Katherine and Betty; and his half-brothers, Russell and John "Mickey".
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley McNitt (Dearing); his siblings, Larry Lee "Bud" McNitt (Rosie) of Lumber City and Margaret Herto of Church Hill; and his sister-in-law Peggy Dearing of Milroy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
