He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Leroy and Pearl S. Armstrong (Dippery); his daughter Carol Ann Ebersole (Armstrong); his siblings, Harry Armstrong Jr., Larry Armstrong and Sarah Jane Christianson; and his son-in-law Robert Ebersole.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth Armstrong (Hunt); his sons, Charles W. Armstrong Jr. (Beth) of Milroy and Timothy R. Armstrong (Marjorie) of Paxinos; his grandchildren, Timber Ebersole, Robert W. Ebersole, Peter Ebersole, Jenny Armstrong, Kristopher Armstrong and Rachelle Armstrong; his great grandchildren, Kinlee Ebersole, Claire E. Krushinskie and Reese J. Krushinskie; and his sister Linda Rudy of Elliottsburg.
