He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathrine Cays (Johnson) and John Duncan Cays; and his brother John Bennett Cays. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Cays (Shimer); his children, Deborah Cays (Frank Golden), Donna Cays, William Cays (Yvette) and Susan Cays Stem (Todd); his grandchildren, Nicholas Golden (Ciarra), Alexander Pappas, Christopher Golden (Liz), Briana Schreiber, Dominique Vento (Anthony), Elizabeth Cays, Benjamin Cays, Cassidy Reice, Madeleine Golden, Braden Cays, Max Stem, Mitchell Stem and Maia Golden; and his great grandchildren, Josie, Emma, Oliver, Hunter and Wyatt.
