He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Rathman and Grace Rathman (Lied). He is survived by: his wife Jane M. Rathman (Shirk); his children, Cory L. Rathman (Kathy) of Lancaster, Kelly A. Cherrie (Daniel) of Reinholds and Brooke L. McCracken (Joshua) of Ephrata; his grandchildren, Ben, Avery Rathman, Anna, Emily Cherrie, Meg, Tanner and Alec McCracken; and his siblings, Joanne Fritz and Kenneth Rathman.
