She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd A. Smith and Eva Smith (Altenderfer); her grandson Owen; and her siblings, Lester, Nevin Smith, Elda Rothermel and Myrtle Henry.

She is survived by: her husband Melvin J. Wagner; her children, Dr. Lori Beth Wagner of Wallingford and Randall P. Wagner; her close friend Sharon Bassett of Arlington, VA; and her granddaughters, Melissa, Laura and Elizabeth.
