She was predeceased by: her parents, Juan Ortiz and Antonia Figueroa; her children, Johnny Mendez and Myrna Serrano; and her siblings, Alfonso Ortiz, Jose Antonia Figueroa, Angel L. Ortiz, Aida Ortiz, Angel Manuel Figueroa and Lura Figueroa.

She is survived by: her children, David Mendez (Maribel) of North Carolina, Luz N. Mendez of Reading, Hector Mendez of Reading and Noel Alverez (Sherri) of West Lawn; and her siblings, Nelli E. Gonzelez, Agdelia Santiago, Juan L. Ortiz and Robert Ortiz Figueroa. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
