He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Gensemer (Oppenhauer) and Raymond Gensemer; and his siblings, Raymond, Carl, Sam and Pearl.
He is survived by: his sons, Walter R. (Carol Gensemer) of Reading, PA, Jay G. Gensemer (Georgene) of Mullica, NJ, Bruce R. (Charmaine Gensemer) of Blandon, PA and Dean G. Gensemer of Reading, PA; his granddaughter Donna W. Groff of Hamburg, PA.; his sisters, Bert R. (Fred Arnold) and Ethel (Richard Schaffer) of Reading, PA.; and his grandchildren, Kristen, Christine, Walter Jr., Troy, Angie, Jason Gensemer, Bradley and Jennifer Groff. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
