It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Y. Reese (Reading, Pennsylvania), born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Schaeffer and Isabel Schaeffer (Lynch); her former husband Q. Ronald Young; her husband William D. Reese; and her sister Jean Letcher.

She is survived by: her children, Gregory Young (Pam) and Cyndi Ryland (late Earl "Fritz" Ryland); her grandchildren, Graham, Allison, Amanda Young, Christine Matson and Erik Ryland; and her great grandchildren, Violet, Scarlett Young, Alexandra Matson, Arianna, Easton and Wyatt Ryland. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 S. 2nd Street, Pottsville, Pa. 17901 or the Schuylkill Haven Public Library, 104 St. John Street, Schuylkill Haven, Pa. 17972.
