He was predeceased by: his parent Jacob Buch. He is survived by: his parent Lottie Buch; his children, Robert J. Buch and Maria G. Buch; his brother Sterling Buch; his wife Cherelyn Buch; and also, Emmett, San Pedro and Los Angeles.

On April 12, 2017, the UCLA school of medicine received his body as a donation for their medical research and studies.
