He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille Strause (Sheehan); his parents, Harold L. Strause, Sr. and Emma Strause (Berger); and his siblings, Donald B. Strause, Patricia A. Sell and David A. Strause.
He is survived by: his children, Sue S. (Lawrence J. Karas) of Houston, Texas, James A. (Pok Y.) and Jane S. (John J. Buckley Jr.) of Mohnton; and his grandchildren, Sarah E. Strause, John J. Buckley III, Stephanie Bergmann (Karas), Patrick J. Buckley, Meghan Sprys (Buckley) and Lauren E. Karas. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
