With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerard R. McCarthy (Reading, Pennsylvania), who passed away on June 21, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerard McCarthy and Dorothy McCarthy. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jean McCarthy; his brother Bryan (Debbie); his children, Mark (Linda) and Christa (Steve); his grandsons, Kevin (Amanda), Steven (Gia) and Alan (Marissa); and his great grandchildren, Tessa, Seneca, Isabella, August and Vincent.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude's Cancer Research Center, a cause that was close to Rod's heart.
