He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Bassett and Dorothy Bassett; and his sister Jacqueline Cummings. He is survived by: his wife Lt. Mary Gaus; his daughters, Sarah Wilhelm of Philadelphia, PA, Jennifer Page Brown (Greg) of Montgomery Village, MD and Joanna Snow (John) of La Plata, MD; his stepchildren, Marilyn Barker (Fred) of Boston and Matthew Oberhardt (Tara) of Truckee, CA; his grandchildren, Taylor Page Brody (Joel), Rory Page (Kelsey), Rebecca, Molly, Colleen and Charlie Snow; and his stepgrandchildren, Katherine and George Barker. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
