He was predeceased by: his parents, Abner Berkeley and Lily Grace Staples (Smith); and his brother Galen Staples. He is survived by: his wife Joyce H. McAllister Staples (Kiesel) of Waynesboro; his sons, Tim Staples (Nikki) of Texas, Richard McAllister (Tammie) of East Berlin, PA and Scott McAllister (Julie) of Waynesboro; his grandchildren, Josh, Savannah, Andrew, Lexi, Patrick and Zachary; and his sisters, Mary Chambers of Camp Hill, PA and Barbara Rousseau. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
