He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin "Jack" Hainsey and Daisy M. Hainsey (Claar); and his brothers-in-law, Guy Black Jr. and Alan Feathers. He is survived by: his spouse Susahn Feathers; his son Greg (Tracy); and his siblings, Eldon (Jean), Michael (Wilma), Jane Claycomb (Jed) and Mary Black.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to his church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
