He is survived by: his wife Frances L. Herwig (Seal); his children, Patricia Herwig, Joseph Herwig (Beth), Wilbur Herwig, Jr. (Sandy), Elizabeth Giranda (James), Lisa Herwig (Stacy) and Richard Herwig (Stephanie); his stepchildren, Laura Johnson (James), Jonathan Hepler (Michelle) and Sandra Hovermale; and his sister Helen Heisey (Jacob). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
