He was predeceased by: his parents, David Alexander Elkin and Annie Florence Elkin (Justice); his close friend Isabell Ruth Wells; his wife Isabell; his daughter Barbara Drummond; and his brothers, Merle Elkin and Harry Elkin.

He is survived by: his children, Lois Drummond, Timothy Walker Of Punxsutawney and Thomas Preston Elkin, Jr. (Becky) of Punxsutawney; his grandchildren, Derek Elkin, Brandy Slovinsky and Brilyn Elkin; and his great grandchildren, Colton Slovinsky, Maverick Slovinsky, Rylee and Payton.

Due to allergies, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, 439 Barnard Road, Smicksburg, PA 16256.
