He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucille Thames (Twardek) and John C. Thames; and his siblings, John Thames, Jr., Edward Thames, Theresa Selvoski, Donald Thames and Anna Thames.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce (Mitchell); his children, Richard Thames, Jr. (Leslie) of Avella, PA, Michele Villiger (Rodney) of Mountain Home, AR and Cary Thames (Kelli) of Ann Arbor, MI; and his grandchildren, Misty, Alissa Thames, Rebecca, Brady, Reese Villiger, Neal, Lindsey and Anna Thames. He is also survived by three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
