He was predeceased by: his father Shelby Knox; and his son David Knox. He is survived by: his mother Freda Knox-Foster (Fryer) of Punxsutawney; his wife Jacalyn "Jackie" Dee Kendall; and his sons, Michael Knox, Johnny Knox, James Knox, Jr., Jack Heberling (Lacey Laney) and Joseph Heberling (Nicole).
