He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Payne and Maude Payne (Horner). He is survived by: his wife Sandra Payne (Shaffer) of Punxsutawney; his son David S. Payne; his pet Duncan; his sister Mary Louise Mahlon (Arthur); and his siblings-in-law, Kaye Shaffer and Howard Shaffer (Cindy).
