He was predeceased by: his parents, William John and Dorothy Lydia Patterson McLaughlin; and his siblings, John "Jack" McLaughlin, Marvel McLaughlin Hutchison and Marge McLaughlin Clutter.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley June Sanders; his children, Samuel McLaughlin (Jan), Debra Unruh (Don) and Diana McLaughlin; his grandchildren, Ursula Schwab, Elizabeth Kaufman (Chris), Marcy McLaughlin Smith (Jared), Lydia Moon and Nicholas McLaughlin Moon; and his great grandchildren, Cyla Schwab, Aurora Schwab, Chloe Kaufman, Jordan Smith and Cooper Kaufman. He is also survived by several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
