He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Smith; his grandparents, Mary, Joseph Rehnert, Catherine and Joseph Smith; and his nephew Joseph Smith.
He is survived by: his mother Johanna Rehnert Smith; his siblings, Johanna (Paul Ryan), Kevin (Marcella) and Joe Smith; his nieces and nephews, Abigail, Andrea, Holly, Rebecca, Sarah Smith, Kaitlyn, Hanna, Danielle Ryan, Andrew, Ashley, Kevin Smith, Paul and Quentin Ryan; and his aunts, Mary Cartledge, Kathleen Muldoon and Regina Bocco (Peter).
