With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha (Young) A. Briggs of Prompton, Pennsylvania, born in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 5, 2022 at the age of 76. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Martha (Young) A. Briggs to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Young and Alzina Young (Brown); and her brother Daniel Young. She is survived by: her sons, Wayne Briggs (Melissa) of Honesdale, Robert Highhouse (Donna) of Damascus and Howard Highhouse (Harriet) of Damascus; her sister Alice Gill (Thomas) of Wilkes-Barre; her sister-in-law Linda Young of Honesdale; her grandchildren, Dyllon Fillebrown, Mason, Gavin Briggs, Bobby, Megan, Matthew, Dustin, Sean and Ryan Highhouse; and her great grandchild Elena. She is also survived by several other great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

“Oh, how we adored Martha. We met her in the early 2000s at the airport and last saw her at Scarfallotto's. Every time we saw her, we knew a hug was coming our way. She would happily and proudly show us pictures of her children and grandchildren on her cell phone. She would chat and make us laugh. What a special lady. Your family was clearly blessed to have had such a loving woman in your midst. May God bless you all. Our family will say a special prayer for you and for Martha.”
