He is survived by: his wife Joan Bickel (Lynch); his children, David (Natalie), Joanie Boyd (Michael) and Stephen (Dana); his grandchildren, Jude (Hannah), Liam, Catherine, Morah, Daniel, Mia, Ryan, Stevie and Daisy; and his siblings, Isabel Betancourt and Betty Lou Gilliard. He is also survived by many cousins, two nieces and one nephew.
