She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Wassell and Helen Wassell (Popnick); her husband David Thomas; and her siblings, John Stencavage, Theresa Large, Helen Briesch and Christine Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Christy Collins (Charlie) of Pottsville, Joanie Thomas (Herb Bohr) of Lebanon and David Roman (Lorraine) of Frackville; her grandchildren, Cayleigh Collins and Jessica Heckman; her great grandchildren, Michael Heckman and Alissa Heckman; and her sister Anna Flail of McAdoo. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Joan's family will provide flowers, and in lieu of flowers her family asks that you make a contribution to the charity of your choice in her memory.
