He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew F. Whitaker and Grace Whitaker (Fidler); his sisters, Nancy Lazarchick (Whitaker) and Peggy Perron (Whitaker); his wife Margaret Whitaker (Hummel); his niece Jane Lazarchick; his foster brother Irv Klinger; and his great-nephew Isaac Perron.
He is survived by: his significant other Diane Luscavage; his children, Jamey Whitaker (Mary Jo), Christine Whitaker and Scott Luscavage (Heather); his siblings, Mike and Missy Whitaker; his stepmother Babs Whitaker of Pottsville, PA; his grandchildren, Schuyler, Joey, Matthew Whitaker, Kyle, Jared, James, Alexis Luscavage, Brock Maroukis, Jason and Matthew Mennig; and his great grandchildren, Bodie, Georgiana, Elowyn Whitaker, Hudson, Remi, Niko Luscavage, Joey and Adley Mennig. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Lord Ebling Haus Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. (1818 Mahantongo St, Pottsville, PA 17901).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
