He was predeceased by: his parents, Terrance W., Sr. and Mary Alma Coughlin McGovern; his wife Anne Patricia Buckley McGovern; and his brothers, Terrance W. McGovern, Sr., Lawrence McGovern and James McGovern.
He is survived by: his children, Maribeth McGovern (Majid Al-Sharif) of Huston, TX, Donald F. McGovern, Jr. (Susan Bennett), David McGovern and Robert J. McGovern (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Collin, Zachary (Samantha), Elise and Tariq; and his sister Mitzy McGovern (Thomas McGovern). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
