He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hillegas and Eleanor Hillegas (Krause). He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his brother Garrett; his siblings-in-law, Ruth Stauffer, David Schoenly and Mary Murrow; and his nieces and nephews, Ross Stauffer, Jennifer Hetcko, John Murrow and Lauren Everett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Robert's name.

“I believe this Bobby Hillegas was a Grandson or cousin of some sort to Ralph & Alice Mellon. Of Warwick, which is below Elverson Pa. I used to play ball with him. Cause Mr. Mellon supplied a place in his back yard to play. Plus he sponsored some of us kids, with any equipment we needed. Bobby was one of the nicest people you ever want to meet.
