He is survived by: his spouse Jean E. Crosby Schaeffer (Turner); his children, Stephen R. Schaeffer (Mary K.) of Evington, VA, Michael L. Schaeffer (Pamela), Stephanie E. (Lee Frantz) of The Villages, FL and Michele C. (Gordon Renninger); his siblings, Tim Schaeffer and Judy Taves; and his stepchildren, Glenn Crosby and Linda (Jeff Maenza).
